As a contribution to the City’s renovation of Lazenby Field, the Dads’ Club paid $6000.00 to have the concrete poured for the new dugouts.

The infield at Community #1 was removed and replaced. This includes the infield sod. The whole area was graded and laser leveled to 1 percent from the pitcher’s mound outward. Clay bricks were placed beneath pitches’ mound and home plate.
The cost of this project was $14,000.00, and added a finish to what was done in 2007.
The dugouts at Angell Field were fitted with permanent roof structures at a cost of $8300.00. This will be paid for by way of a grant from the Detroit Tigers Foundation, a division of Iilitchcharities.org/litch Charities.
Finishing touches will be completed in the spring.

2 Daktroniks scoreboards were purchased and installed at Community Fields 2 and 3. This includes wireless controllers for each board.
The Berkley Bear Boosters contributed $1200.00 toward this project. The total cost was $19,000.00.

The infield at Angell Field was completely redone, adding grey clay and tilling it in to the old surface. It was laser-graded to have a 1 percent slope from the center.
The cost of the labor and materials for this project was $5,000.00.

The dugout fences at Community 2 and 3 were revamped to make it safer for players entering and leaving the field. Some fence repair/upgrade work was also done at Angell and Pattengill.
The cost of the improvements was around $5,000.00.
This also provided us with a small storage area at each field for maintenance tools.

Dads’ Club Members Sean & Nathalie Morrissey along with SUMMIT TRANSPORT of Brighton donated ($6500.00), delivered and installed 90 tons of Infield Red Clay Mix at Community Field #1The Dads’ Club kicked in another $12,000.00 to cover the cost of doing Community Fields 2 & 3.
FIELD IMPROVMENTS, Fall 2004
The Scoreboard at Community Field #1 was purchased from Daktronics. It was installed in March, 2004.
The cost was $5,100.00, and the Berkley High School Bear Boosters contributed ($500.00) to this purchase
The final electrical hookup was done by Dads’ Club Member Bob McChesney.
